Braveish

He's failed at radio, TV and DJing. Now he's a YouTuber.

Nigel Green is in his forties and has spent his entire adult life trying to make it in showbiz. One disastrous live news bulletin, a Capital FM audition that went nowhere, and a radio talent contest where he was cast as the villain and filmed crying. Now he's launching a YouTube channel full of big-money stunts.

Helping him are three student interns. One is already more famous than he is, one would rather be anywhere else, and one is terrifyingly overqualified.

About the production

A comedy web series about the least successful YouTuber in Britain.

The story

Nigel Green has wanted to be famous for his entire adult life. He spent four years posting radio showreels to every station in the UK, each CD printed with his own face. He fluffed his one chance to read the news live on air. He reached the final of a national radio contest, only to realise he'd been cast as the villain, and the producers used the clip of him crying in the promo.

He's been a DJ. He's tried TV presenting. Now, in his forties, he's turning to YouTube.

The interns

Aiden, 19. Effortlessly charming, already booking real TV work, and only here because his university made him. Nigel is desperate for his approval.

The one who doesn't want to be here. Exactly what it says.

The overachiever. Has a plan for everything, and a breaking point for anything that doesn't go to plan.

The challenges

Every episode is a big YouTube-style stunt that goes wrong in a uniquely Nigel way: trying to sell an apple for £1,000,000, extreme hide-and-seek in a bunker, “whatever fits in the circle, I'll buy it”, and surviving 24 hours in a spaceship simulator.

Made in Kent

Ten episodes of 10 to 15 minutes, filmed across Kent with student actors and interns getting real on-set experience, and released weekly on YouTube.
