B-Movie

A British comedy about friendship, community, and a very badly written zombie flick.

After yet another TV pitch is rejected, out-of-work writer Kevin is talked into producing a B-movie with his friend Ben, who's funding it and cutting every corner going. To save money they hire an amateur dramatics society, who'll be “happy to be in front of the camera for a few measly sandwiches.” Kevin tells his fiancée the TV show got commissioned. Nothing about this ends well. Then it does.

About the production

A British comedy feature about friendship, community and a very badly written zombie flick.

The story

After another TV pitch is rejected, out-of-work writer Kevin is approached by his friend Ben, who offers to fund a movie. Kevin promised his fiancée Heather he'd get a proper job if this pitch failed, but before he can break the news, Ben convinces her the show was commissioned. Kevin keeps the lie going, and Heather starts planning a wedding he can't afford.

Kevin wants to make the best film he possibly can. Ben wants to make the cheapest. They pick one of Kevin's first scripts, a badly written zombie flick, and to save money hire an amateur dramatics society who'll work “for a few measly sandwiches”.

When Ben's frustration with the cast boils over into a serious on-set accident, the theatre company walks out, the friendship ends, and Kevin sets off to discover what friendship and community spirit really mean.

About the film
